Started with 3 Sisters & 1 Lucky Brother

Some think of us Sapen sisters as triplets because of our similar features, alike personalities, interests, and occupations, but one of us is three years older. Bethany (pictured below in the middle) is the oldest of us three. She works as a full-time school nurse and momma. Emily (pictured left) and Ashley (right) both work for Medtronic Diabetes. We are all dog moms, beach lovers, and stay active both physically and in the community.

Our brother, Brandon, was recently married in 2019 (see below), which means we gained an amazing sister, and now there’s a FOURTH Sapen sister.

Now we are blessed aunties to our precious precious nephews!

Our family continues to grow. Ash married Brad in 2021 and became a Foltz! She’s lucky and gained an incredible sister, brother, and 3 nephews she has watched grown up over the years! Photo of our whole “gang” below. A growing family is a beautiful thing… we’re a little bit of crazy, most times a ‘little’ bit of loud, but always a whole lot of love.

As you might know, Ashley and Emily have something else in common. We both have type 1 diabetes. We were diagnosed in 2003, several days apart and have grown up supporting each other and in the recent years have been spreading awareness and support across the world! The twins' Instagram account is @doubletheinsulin, and we share the highs and lows of life with type 1 diabetes. Beth helped us come up with the motto of “Strength comes from Within” years ago…. because we spread the message to others that you can do anything you put your mind to, whether it is related to type 1 diabetes or any personal battle!
